I unpaired my Apple Watch and gave it away recently. I’ve been getting fitness tracking notifications for the unpaired watch. Person confirmed they have been able to sign in and use everything as normal. How do I remove this link between my phone and the watch?

Hopefully you performed all these steps.
And hopefully there has never been any sharing of Apple Accounts (formerly called Apple IDs) in your scenario.
Might the Apple Watch owner be sharing fitness activity?

Possibly- the only thing that concerns me is that I see the activity on my fitness app on my phone logged into my Apple account. It displays on the fitness app as if it’s my watch even though everything has been unpaired. With this is mind is this still a possibility?
