Apple mind and body work out burns too many calories

I used the apple mind and body workout to track a meditation. It’s already strange that it tracks it as an activity instead of just mindfulness. The mindfulness breathe or reflect max out at 5 mins. I needed something for a longer meditation and used the mind and body workout and I clocked 30 mins and it said I burned 183 calories. I find this impossible to believe compared to the calories you burn while running for that long or walking. This question has been asked several times but apple has not answered it yet. Hoping someone from apple answers it.

I spoke with apple support and they mentioned that the Mind and Body workout will use as many calories as a brisk walk which is obviously not what i wanted to use it for. They told me to submit a comment as a feature addition or change. If i get the time i might actually do it. For now the outcome is that apple does not have a good way to record meditations or passive mindfulness activities outside of the 5 minutes in the mindfulness app.

I concur that it's inaccurate, and it seems to have been an issue for a while going by what I see on the web. But you're not communicating with Apple when you post in the Community. Apple does not participate in these forums. We're all just fellow users, helping out as we have time and knowledge to share. So no one from Apple will answer your question here. You can contact Apple Support and discuss the situation with them, though whether they can help I don't know. If you wish to provide feedback to Apple, you can do so here:
