MacBook Pro 2020 M1 Logic Board Failure

Logic Board failed (according to Apple Bluewater). Wanting to charge me £600 to repair which is about what the device is worth. Been researching the EU 6 year option but it’s very confusing.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 15.0

There is no "6-year option" in the EU that I can find. EU law says only that a two-year warranty is required and you're well past that.

In the UK, if a fault occurs after six months, the Consumer Rights Act of 2015 provides the possibility, but the consumer has to prove that the problem was down to a fault or issue at the manufacturer as opposed to wear and tear or misuse. Consumers have this right for six years in England and for five years in Scotland.

You trying to prove that absolutely nothing you did could have caused the failure is going to be very difficult. You'll probably have to just pay the repair or put the money toward something else.

Regards.
