Caps Lock was/is not engaged. I rebooted this morning and the screenshot was captured after. So the arrow is displayed without caps lock engagement. I use multiple screens on my Macbook Air.
I did get it to go away by starting Terminal. app and entering (pasteing) sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain/UIKit.plist redesigned_text_cursor -dict-add Enabled -bool NO
Had to enter my password, ran it again and arrow is gone.
The Terminal code was posted in this community, I saw it after posting my complaint.

This arrow is meaning that the caps lock button on your keyboard is engaged.
If caps lock is not engaged and you're seeing this logo, please restart your Mac to see if the issues persist
