Microphone isn’t working when calling my Friends via messenger

Every time I call my friends on my Facebook messenger my friends cannot hear me and I am using voice dictation to type right now… so I know my microphone is working but every time I call on messenger which I did allow the permission to use my microphone for my friends cannot hear me on my iPad. I even made a test account to see if it was the microphone settings. But it isn’t because I’m not getting any feedback from the microphone on my iPad either. What do I do? Should I bring this up with Facebook or something?
