Fixing poor audio quality on Spotify/YouTube while using Bluetooth (AirPods Max) and FaceTime?

Hi y'all,

This is a specific issue, but I'm wondering if anyone might have a solution. Whenever I'm taking FaceTime calls listening through my AirPods, and trying to listen to Spotify at the same time, the audio quality goes down. I'm pretty sure about a year ago I used to be able to switch to the internal microphone of my MacBook to keep the same higher-quality audio codec but it seems like this method no longer works. Curious if there's any other way to deal with this issue.
