I have discovered my iMac 21.5" 2019 i3 3.6GHz with Sequoia installed has lost its AirDrop functionality.
I can use System Settings to set it to Everyone, but when the AirDrop window comes up (Command-Shift-R) it tells me no one can see me. I have tried setting and restarting both in normal and safe modes but still it persists. Are there any terminal commands I could use? Or is there something I am missing?

Thank you all for your suggestions. I noticed I was signed out of iCloud+ so went there, signed back in and voila.
With system Settings I went to AirDrop and Handoff and chose Everyone (as I had previously done) and this time the Command Shift R sequence brought up the AirDrop window with Everyone already chosen for me and my MacBook Air showing ready to receive or send. SO all is well!

I would check your Screen time settings
Is wifi and bluetooth turned on both devices?
Airdrop will only work if the devices you are airdropping to are close to each other.
And, I believe within around 30 ft of each other
Use AirDrop on your Mac - Apple Support
Other than the link, I would:
shut down both macs
reboot your router
restart both macs
I would also see if Airdrop works while in safe mode.
Secondly, try to use Airdrop from a different account on each of the macs

Have you checked in Settings and in the Search field above your Apple Account Name type Airdrop. You should see as possible choices Airdrop & Handoff or just Airdrop. Click on one of them and check your settings for any possible conflict.
My laptop is right beside my iMac. Both have BT and WiFi activated.
Alistair McBride, Excellent🤠. Sounds like with you signed out of iCloud+ the Mac might have been hung up on file permissions.
