In my voice memos app, there is no red button to record. I have done this before but not working now.

My iPhone (iOS 17.1.2) voice memo will, tonight, alternately record voice and record absolutely nothing. If I can make it to the hamburger and check both enhance recording and skip silence, then sometimes it will record. But more times than not it will "record" a flat line of quiet regardless of what is happening within earshot of the phone. There are no valid choices in sounds, microphone, or voice memo unless it's a case of the cigarette lighter and "track 3" honking the horn. What do I do to make it work every time again??

Iphone Voice Memo App Pauses After 3 Minutes Recently the Apple Voice Memo recording pauses after 3 minutes and requires tapping the pause button to start again. This makes the app unusable for recording anything longer than 3 minutes. Anyone else experiencing this issue?
