Can't transfer data through iCloud, manually, or phone to my new iPhone 16 Pro Max

I am on my second 16 Pro Max. Can not transfer through iCloud, manually, phone to phone. Only transfers some contacts. It’s supposed to mirror my phone. It looks like it just came out of the box each time I paired them. Finally gave up after taking the day off of work and being on customer care and apple support for 5 hours today. I even screen shared with Apple support who was truly trying everything and was so helpful, and her conclusion was she tried absolutely everything and it’s the phone. This is my second phone. Bought one in store last week and had almost same experience, but worse because T mobile associates were rude and acted like they were mad I was making them work instead of playing on their phone or taking their breaks. There is a definite issue with this version. I am so disappointed. I am back on my 12 PMx and I still had to troubleshoot on my own to get it fully back to working the way it was. Is this an issue all over? Because from what I am reading it seems like it isn’t just me

No, this issue isn't all over. Millions of people have upgraded to iPhone 16 iPhones, without hiccup, myself included. How are you trying to move your data from your 12 to your new iPhone? Did you try to use QuickStart which is so easy?


Since you're pretty frustrated, do you have an Apple Store near you? If you do, I'd take the new phone and the iPhone 12 and go to your Apple Store, where they can likely easily get your data migrated.


If you didn't use QuickStart, see how it works here, but it would require your 16 Pro Max back to the Hello Page.

I do have a store 15 miles away. The problem is, as I stated, the Apple Support Technician who I screen shared with for 2 hours, exhausted all of her efforts to try and get my 16 PM to transfer all of my data. When I asked if I should go to an Apple Store she replied-No, it’s the phone. She also said that they would do everything she just did. My carrier is T-mobile. I do not want to purchase a third device and then have to bring it to Apple. That kind of defeats the purpose. Thanks
