How can I streamline my video editing workflow on my Mac for social media content creation?

I run a small video editing agency and often work with short ads and commercial videos primarily for social media. I use Final Cut Pro, but I sometimes feel the process can get a bit sluggish when dealing with multiple formats, transitions, and effects. Does anyone have any tips for optimizing the editing workflow? Are there any tools or plugins that work particularly well with macOS to speed things up?

I don't know what's been edited out of this thread... however, effects that can *automatically* adapt to any aspect ratio will be helpful. They can be copy/pasted from one clip to another of a different size (like HD to 9:16) and all the design factors will just fit the new layout. When working with project dimensions - using "adjustment layers" for these adjustable effects will work the same for the project sizes — so adjustment layers with adjustable effects will automatically be formatted to the new project size.
