"The disk wasn't rejected because one or more programs may be using it"

I bought an SSD and it works an absolute dream on my windows devices but my apple devices have been a fricking nightmare. Constant problems (yes it is formatted correctly etc). The latest being this error message that won't let me eject my SSD.

There are no programs!!!! I even followed chat gpts advice and went to activity monitor and tried deleting the "mdwrite" or whatever they are things. I pressed shut down and they didn't!

Someone please help, I don't have the time for this 😭😡

That is definitely a frustrating problem that seems to occur a lot especially with Spotlight indexing, but even some other apps/processes will sometimes hold on as well.

See my other post here with instructions for using the command line to confirm which process(es) are still using the volume:

Try and reboot your Mac to see if the issues persist

If they persist, make sure that all of your programmes are completely closed before trying to eject the SSD
