How can I confirm the authenticity of iCloud requests?

After update, I've got new iCloud terms and conditions. But what is suspicious, it requires entering my iPhone password. All previous times it didn't required it. Is normal? Should I enter it?

Apple Text Message I received a text stating my Apple ID was used to sign into icloud on an IMac at Apple Store from Chicago for 138.95 via a preauthorization hold with ApplePay. it states that the requests have been paused until I contact them at 1-850-988-6834. (I don't use apple pay and I'm not anywhere near Chicago.) I am pretty sure this is a scam/spam text and I can ignore it, however, I wanted to be sure it wasn't a legitimate message from Apple.

Phished? Clicked on settings because of red 1. Then it asked for my iCloud six digit password. I entered the number. Was this legit or did I just get phished? Everything’s ok so far. I’m on a 5th gen, 12.9” iPad Pro

Agreed. Seems sketchy to me as well.
