With Boost Mobile I’m not getting group text messages if an Android is involved in the group. When I check my Settings; Cellular, there isn’t a listing for Messages, which tells me no messages can come in using cellular data. Does this explain why I can’t communicate in a group with an Android device??

Nope, you would need to be provisioned by Boost to use MMS, it also has to be enabled in message settings.
Troubleshoot by contacting Boost support.
