Stickers disappear in Message app in iPhone 16 Pro Max

I have the 16 Pro Max and every time I go to create a new sticker. It will not let me. It literally disappears in front of my eyes. I hold down the photo I would like to turn into a sticker, click add sticker, it then pulls up the sticker keyboard as to show me that it has been “added” then *poof* it’s gone. Am I doing something wrong?

Wondering if updating to the newest iOS 18.1 version may help.
