Facebook login/website vs App

Facebook shows that a person is logged into iPhone and/or www.facebook.com at times (can see in FB settings) I’m wondering what the difference is? Said person is also not supposed to have the Facebook app but do all Facebook through safari, www.facebook.com which is filtered though Covenant eyes. I appreciate the clarity!
