Can I take my Apple Watch Series 7 to an Apple Store and get same day service on a battery replacement? The “Maximum Capacity” shows as 79% and “Battery Health” notes that “Service Recommended,” which I presume are related.

This was disappointing. I called a near-by Apple Store to find out if they happened to have my Apple Watch model in stock. I was routed to Apple Support, where they have no information about stock at a particular Apple Store. The support person kept yammering about what my options were if I had AppleCare. I told him that I never did and to stop talking about that. The final thing he was telling me is that Apple had no option to provide me with an Apple Watch with a new battery even if I paid for it and that my only option was to buy a new watch. At the beginning of the call I’d declined the option of a survey. I wished at that point I hadn’t done that, as in my survey responses I’d have ripped him a new one.

A different refurnished watch (as I expected) was returned to the retailer within a few days, faster than I was told would happen, so all is well.
Thanks. I think that’s what I’ll do. If I can find an Apple Store nearby with the item I need, then I’ll go there.

I just dropped off my watch at a third-party Apple retailer near me. They will mail it to Apple.

My Apple Watch 5 has been sent to a service facility by Apple, and the watch was be replaced completely by a refurbished one.
