I’m unable to add this comment to the thread about Apple charging for “free“ gift cards, but wanted to report that I have filed a complaint about this practice with the Attorney General of the state of Washington. Maybe some of you other scammed folks should try your state’s consumer protection agency or attorney general as well. Can you say “class action lawsuit“?

You are charged for the gift card but the purchase amount of your hardware is reduced by the value of the card. This is standard practice.
