unable to login to apple account on macbook pro after macOs 15.1 update

Had logged out after macOS 15.1 upgrade due to iMessage not having access any longer. After many failed attempts to log out, was finally successful. Restarted macbook and tried to sign into apple account with verified credentials (got here didn’t I?) and seems to accept credentials, but eventually return back to login prompt without having signed in,
