Can’t use my laptop after putting the password

I have a macbook pro m1 pro 2021 16’. When i power up my laptop everything starts normally but after I put my password it just stays on the screensaver view. The mouse moves and the screen isn’t “frozen” but I can’t se the menu bar or the dock. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting shortcuts I can think of but nothing seems to work. I reinstalled the Sonoma but it still doesn’t work. There’s no reason having these unfinished updates just to make the device unusable. I got all my school projects saved on the computer and I just have to hope that my 2500€ laptop opens up…

Commiserations! Am no expert in this area, yet your post certainly deserves some response. Seems you have tried a few things already ... see if any of the suggestions below could be helpful.

Re: "When i power up my laptop everything starts normally but after I put my password it just stays on the screensaver view".

Seems Mac needs you to press a key to move beyond the screen-saver, or is it waiting for you to choose which user-account you want to use ?

or

You may want to check the power-point you are using isn't faulty, (eg: by trying a different one) ... and try checking the Mac's power-adapter is working properly.

Else:

It may help if you try starting up in safe mode:

Note: You leave safe mode by restarting your Mac normally

Thanks for your reply. The situation may be a bit unordinary and the description might have been a bit poor on my behalf hence English isn’t my first language.

the situation isn’t a lack of knowledge how to use apple products or “where to click”. I’ve had this computer for a year now and probably 4 different ones before this in the past 15 years.

There is some type of bug happening and the screen isn’t displaying the home screen as it should. After the password it logs in and I can move my mouse but can’t see _anything_ else than the wallpaper picture (not the top bar or the dock). Yesterday after spamming all the shortcut keys i could find, it started playing some old video recording from my computer without the picture and I got it to stop only by force shutting the laptop.

I was hoping to find some instructions to clear the display settings or something to set the display starting to mirror what should be on the screen.
