The documents created on my laptop are no longer saving to the hard drive; they end with Equinox cloud, and I never chose anything called Equinox. Does anyone know how this program got onto my laptop? Is it an Apple product or does it need to go ASAP?

Are you sure it doesn't actually say Equinix? Equinix is a system that allows access to multiple cloud services (and is not an Apple product).

It's not something you could get accidentally, so my guess is that your Mac is being managed by your company/organization and that they installed it in which case you'll need to discuss this with your IT support people.
