itunes duplicate songs

I have more than 50 songs in my duplicate songs list. Each of them show as "Purchased AAC audio file". They are *not* shown in pairs as is the case for validly flagged duplicates. Each file is listed only once in the duplicate files list. I had not seen them until I synched the library to my iphone. In each one I have verified that there is *not* a duplicate file in my library. I have tried signing out, exiting and then signing back in. All of them are still in the list. What can I do to get these falsely flagged files out of my list?

iPhone 13, iOS 17

Signing out of the iTunes Store solved the problem. I had been signing out while viewing the Library. Never realized that a specific sign-out while in the Store tab was a different thing! Thanks for your help!

  • 'Only Downloaded Music' is enabled. I changed it to 'All Music" and now the duplicate songs list does show pairs of file names for each of the 56 songs. The second song of each pair shows a blue 'cloud' icon.
  • The 'Same Album' view is the same as 'All".
  • The duplicates do not disappear after signing out, exiting, entering and signing back in.
  • Now that I see pairs of songs, let me review your 'Duplicate Songs' article again and retry.
