LG monitor notices when I plug in the HDMI cable with the message "no input detected", then screen goes black. HDMI connected with "C" adapter to MacBook Air (M1 2020), Monterey 12.7.6. Tried replugging several times, tried different cables, tried unplugging, tried restarting, tried doing things in different orders. What I haven't tried (since I don't have one) is a different HDMI to "C" adapter. Do they go bad? It worked fine last week.
I would use a different cable, yes. For best results use an HDMI to C cable instead of an adapter
Or, if your display supports that: an USB C to USB C display cable
Replacing the adapter did the trick. Thank you
