Unable to Install VMware Fusion 13.6.1 on MacAir M3

Cannot install VMWare fusion 13.6.1 app on the mac.

Open the installer and get this:

When you double click "VMWare Fusion.app", you get the following:

Some other notes:

  • Yes, my account is administrator
  • I did reboot to try again
  • I am on 15.1. (24B83)
  • I did try manually dragging the app to Applications folder and then going into settings and setting the app as trusted developer.

Any idea how to get this application installed? Thanks

Yeah this is very weird this VMware version is supported by macOS Ventura, Sonoma and Seqoia, there is no reason why it shouldn't work

The release notes also explicitly say that this version supports Apple Silicon Macs.

There is a "known issue" with being unable to install VMware Tools on Sequoia, but I would have thought that to mean that you could install the main package, then later take additional steps (the "workaround") to install that final set of tools.
