connecting home app and a somfy single channel motor
Is there any way to verify a bridge solution that will integrate a Somfy SIMU 550 single-channel motor for an outdoor Awning with HomeKit and the Home App? Meanwhile, Somfy claims they have tight HomeKit and app support. However, this is only with motors using Zigbee-enabled motors for interior-only shades. Their press announcement back in June 2024 states this. However, the sales rep for the awning company never mentioned that the Awning motor wasn't a Zigbee-enabled motor. Of course, now that the Awning has been installed and paid for. The dealer and the support line at Somfy are scratching their heads, trying to keep up with all the technical details being unearthed to see if we can get this to work with the Home app.
So far, the research found on the web doesn't go deep enough, talking about single-channel devices such as HomeKit and the Home app, after diving into several sites about TaHoma (Somfy's app) switches, Beacons, and Bridges. I've not found anything about these single-channel devices, in this case, a motor called a Simu 550 motor. I've looked at solutions like Home Assistance and Home Bridge, but again no mention of any kind of ability to assign a homekit code to this type of device. I also found software (requires a computer as a server) and a hardware device from AddtoHomeKit.com. The details are very sketchy at best, so I'm apprehensive about spending another hundred dollars on a device that might not work. Including a photo from the website. With a business model of pay to ask a question (LOL) to purchase something. The site also doesn't provide any support, so I'm suspicious.
The property runs two Apple TV 4K fourth-gen with 18.1 and an iPod Mini to extend the range of a Level Lock device for Home app control over Bluetooth, but there is no Wi-Fi for Apple integration.
All and any Comments very much appericatated and welcome. I'd really like to have this outdoor Awning work with the Home app. much like the other over two dozen devices we use in our quest to build a connected smart home.
Thanks in Advance
