Apple watch series 7 (3rd party refurb) blood oxygen sensor disabled

I purchased a refurbished watch (from amazon) and I am told in the health app that the oxygen sensor feature has been disabled. This watch was most definitely purchased originially prior to the 18th of january 2024 (the battery health is at 81%). I’m wondering why it is that the feature is disabled on that watch.

Could someone please explain to me why that is ?

Thank you.

You should pose that question to whoever you're buying it from. If you're buying it from Amazon, it was not refurbished by Apple so, who knows what was done.

Apple has no refurbished Series 7 on their official site so I've no way to compare whether or not the feature would be available on an officially refurbed model.
