Trade in after a new purchase

Purchased a 16 iPhone 16 Pro Max, initially was going to pass down my 14 Pro Max 1TB to a family member but she didn't have T-Mobile account, Can I still trade in the 14?

iPhone 16 Pro Max, iOS 18

Contact Apple directly to be sure, but you should be able to trade it in for an Apple gift card.

Your other option is to contact T-Mobile and see if your iPhone 14 is eligible to be unlocked from the carrier. If so, you can do that and then pass the iPhone on to another person and they can use it with whatever carrier they wish.
