Blank mystery page, how to delete?

I'm going to answer my own question here, in case someone else has the same problem.

I had created an Apple Pages file (.pages), and then arranged my content on the page in text boxes. I'm still getting used to text boxes, so I tried a lot of different ones (diff sizes, diff content). The ones I didn't like, I just dragged them to the side, off the document page.

Finally, I had a page I liked, followed by a blank page. But when I tried to delete the blank 2nd page, it warned me that I was also about to delete all the content on my 1st page.

I couldn't see a darned thing on the 2nd page. Eventually I went to View > Show Invisibles. Then I could see all the returns and tabs etc, but even with Show Invisibles on, I didn't see anything on the blank 2nd page. UNTIL I zoomed out a couple times. THEN I could see the text boxes (most of them empty) that were littered up and down the sides of my document, just off the page. I couldn't see them before, because the document page itself was taking up the whole viewing area. I also wouldn't have been able to see them without Show Invisibles, or by clicking directly on what otherwise looked like a blank area, or clicking and dragging over the apparent blank area to either side of the document. I deleted all the empty text boxes that were to either side of the 2nd page, even the ones that were encroaching on the 2nd page just a little bit, and voilá! my blank 2nd page went away and the content on the 1st page remained.

This one was a real puzzler. I hope my description & solution helps someone else with a similar problem on down the line!
