ios 18.1 control center volume and brightness dimmer sliders unresponsive on 16 ProMax

Most times after sliding down the control center from the upper right, the sliders for volume and screen brightness do not respond to touch inputs. Other buttons such as the flashlight, rotation lock, etc.. work normally. Very occasionally changing modes to the music screen option on the right side of the screen and the back into the home "heart" button will allow the sliders to function but only for a brief period. I also find that tapping and holding outside apps on the screen does not change the control center screen into edit mode and when I tap the plus button on the upper left, the controls are highlighted as normal when in edit mode, but none of the controls are responsive when trying to relocate them.
