I was about to install Authy. But it;'s gone. I have Duo Mobile on my iPhone.
Loving simplicity, I'm looking for the most reputable and simple authenticator app for my desktop (iMac Pro).
What would users suggest, please?

Just to make sure I understand. Do you want to use your YubiKey as an additional 2FA authenticator to access 1Password?
FWIW, I use both of these products and adding the YubiKey, for this purpose, is relatively simple.

If, on the other hand, you are asking can you integrate 3rd-party authenticator apps with 1Password, the answer in most cases, is maybe.
Here's how I have done this ...
1Password should know generate 2FA codes for this account. Don't forget to use the current code (the one you just copied) to complete the verification process on the service's website.
Start with 1Password's own support articles, then, and if that's insufficient, I think they have a community help forum of their own, plus their official support helpdesk.
No I don't see that. I see things along the lines of "if you lose your security key or can't access it but have an authenticator app you can still access your account with MFA turned on".
Also, 1Password supports Passkeys, so you could use those as well.

I wish I could answer your first question unambiguously: I may not need a separate actual authenticator app?
But the very helpful thread on the 1P forum suggested I did.
When I got my Yubikey I followed the steps in the video which you kindly link to (although on the Yubi site itself).
My confusion, I think, may have arisen from the fact that at 11 (eleven) seconds into that video it 'asks' for an authenticator (the code there is '67150'). At that point I downloaded and set up Duo Mobile on my iPhone.
Maybe that was unnecessary and I could have used 1P itself??
Of course, it goes without saying that the website or account you want to access has to support these MFA methods as well...if your account doesn't allow hardware key MFA, then your yubikey isn't helpfull for the site. If it doesn't implement passkeys, then you can't create and store one. If it only supports sending OTP over SMS or email, then it doesn't matter which authenticator you use because you can't use it there.
