How to delete apps in Monterey when Move to Trash is greyed out

I've used a Time Machine backup of my MacBook Pro to setup a 2nd hand iMac i bought. The 2011 MacBook Pro had many apps that weren't compatible with Monterey. I deleted many after the initial "recover" process. I'm gradually working through the rest to see if I still want them or establishing that they just don't work. I selected one to go and was surprised to find the Trash option wasn't in the click menu and I also found the Trash option in the File Menu grated out. I'm obviously an "admin" user. I tried adding myself to the permissions for the app in the Get Info panel but it said I didn't have permission - even though I'm an admin.

Strange since I was able to delete apps at the beginning. I've checked a document in my Documents folder and I can delete those.

Earlier Mac models
