How to fix stiff hinges on MacBook Pro?

Hi This is my first message on the forum and I hope that you can help. I've a Macbook Pro mid 2013 and the hinges have becme a bit stiff. Can these be lubricated safely without causing damage and, if so, what type of lubricant is best please? Thanks
