Any way to clean out duplicate songs without crashing playlists?

I have a media library with duplicate imports - lots of them. I want to clean them out.

The problem is: I risk breaking my playlists, as duplicate A may be mentioned in playlist 1 and duplicate B in playlists 2 and 3. If I clean out A, I lose the song in playlists 1 and 2. If I clean out B, I lose it in playlist 1. And I even don't know which duplicate is in which playlist.

And I don't want to care. I just want one song in all playlists. Is there any duplicate cleaner which also updates the playlists?

many thanks, Claus

Try Dupin from Doug's Scripts: https://dougscripts.com/apps/dupinapp.php. The blurb there suggests it can merge playlist membership when removing duplicates. Backup everything before you start.
