what does it mean if my app store qont let me download or update apps because of a "billing isue"

Every time I go to update or download an app it tells me to put my Apple ID password saying that there was a billing problem with a previous purchase and wants me to put a different card into my settings but I don’t have another card to use.

Why am I being asked for payment details to download apps from the App Store? every time I try to download an app it shows me to put in my password which isn’t the problem but after I put in my password this thing pops up saying add payment and before it never has done that I don’t know what to do [Re-Titled by Moderator]

It likely means that you owe money to Apple and they could not bill your card. Contact Apple Support, getsupport.apple.com
