Can I trade in an iPhone from Verizon if still in promotional period?

My computer is dying and I can't afford a new one. I don't have enough trade in value on all of my devices to afford it either. Verizon is running a promotion where I could get a iPhone with any trade in. I'd rather have a computer. With the value of a new trade in and all my devices, I can swing the rest of the cost of the computer. The iPhone would be free, but I have to agree to stay with Verizon for three years. Does that matter to Apple?

Unfortunately, you are not asking Apple here. This is a community of end users like you, and Apple will not see your question here.

I think you should start by asking Verizon:

If I am reading your question correctly, I suspect that you would be breaking a contractual agreement made with Verizon and could like be forced to pay off the plan in one payment. Can you afford that? doesn't sound like it.

I'm confused, by what you mean still in promotional period. To me, promotional means you have a contract on your device. And if you are, you have to pay off that device before you can trade it in. It would be like hoping to trade in a car you still owe money on, but somehow not have to pay the balance of the car loan. It doesn't work that way.
