Since you referenced IMEI, please note that you cannot track an iPhone by IMEI or its serial number. In order to track a stolen iPhone, Find My MUST have been enabled before it was stolen, it needs to be powered on and connected to a network. The sad reality if most thieves either power them down or put them in a Faraday Bag, making them impossible to track.

Also note that Apple never gets involved in Lost or Stolen devices. As such, if you receive a message purporting to be from Apple saying your phone has been found and to validate ownership, you need to enter your Apple Credentials, this is a SCAM and NOT from Apple. If you don't respond, they have been known to resort to threats. Don't fall for any message about your stolen device.

You need to contact your carrier and ask them to Blacklist the phone, which will prevent the phone from being able to connect to any carrier network.
