Driving 30 in. Cinema Display w/Gen6 iPad?

I have a USB-C / Thunderbolt display adapter that allows using my venerable 30" Cinema Display with either my M3 MacBook Pro or my Gen6 iPad.

Both devices are running latest appropriate OS/iOS.

Problem I'm looking to resolve is device separation: I want to locate the iPad about eight feet from the display.

I bought two ONN male/female 6' USB-C cables as extensions. Neither one apparently allows sufficient signal strength to the monitor adapter.

I'm pondering whether a powered USB-C buss is a potential fix for boosting signal strength or is it entirely a cable issue instead?

(I love being able to access my iPhone 15 Pro from my 14" MBP! Sure hope Apple sees fit to update capability to bring iPad display mirroring to the Mac OS soon! THAT would solve my problem!!)
