Lightning Cables Not working after latest update

It is clear that the latest iOS update had an intention to check your charge port and supported charging devices. Prior lightning cables that charged on my phone are either not working at all or are saying that there is moisture in the connection when it clearly is not the case. My connector in my car for example no longer works and now I cannot use CarPlay. It is very suspicious that they would previously work and now I’m being forced to use different cables, whether this was intentional or not this is an unacceptable outcome. Does a backup from prior to the update take off the update?

No. You can not downgrade ios.

Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of your local Apple Store and have the device checked out. It’s much more likely that there is something physically wrong with the phone. Either moisture in the charging port or possible lint or grit that’s shorting the connection. You can try cleaning the port out very carefully with a non-conductive tool… a wooden or plastic toothpick works well.
