Mac Wifi connections show 1% transmit packet loss not reported by Windows and Linux clients

Both my Mac Air running Ventura and the new Mac Air running Big Sur report frequent ping packet losses when running over a Wifi connection to an Access Point located in the same room. A Linux Raspberry Pi 4 connected to the same AP reports no ping packet losses, and an old Windows 10 laptop also reports no lost ping packets.

By running a 1 Mbps iperf3 UPD test from each of those Wifi clients, I have determined that the Macs drop about 1% of their transmit packets while the Linux Pi4 and Windows clients drop none. All four Wifi clients are not running on battery. So it appears that older Mac Airs' Wifi hardware is dropping packets.

Running the same iperf3 test from my 2022 MacAir M2, no packets are lost in either direction at 350 Mbps. So it appears there are bugs in earlier MacAir OS and/or wifi hardware which result in Wifi tx packet losses.

Are there any OS fixes for my older MacAirs?
