Multichannel PCM and not Dolby Multichannel PCM
Hello,
I have Samsung S95B OLED TV and to the TV I connect my soundbar HW-Q990D via eARC and my Apple TV is connected to the TV via HDMI 2.1.
Settings audio on TV is set on auto (I can not choose past through is greyed out I don’t know why I can choose only PCM or auto). Settings on Apple TV is set to auto with Dolby Atmos.
When I am streaming from streaming services where is Dolby Atmos I am receiving Dolby Atmos according to the soundbar display and everything is working fine. Doesn’t matter if I turn on same movie on Amazon Prime through native TV app or Apple TV app, always Dolby Atmos.
Problem start to be on non Dolby Atmos content where when I am using native TV app I am getting Dolby Multichannel PCM, but when I am using same app and movie on Apple TV I am getting Multichannel PCM which sounds not as good compere to the Dolby Multichannel PCM.
Do you have any recommendations what I should change in settings? Should I connect something differently?
Dolby Multichannel PCM sounds more like suround sound then just Multichannel PCM, but Multichannel PCM is supose to be uncompresed format so why?
Thank you very much!
