Sequoia How to Show Search Results in a Separate Window

The previous system would go to finder preferences and choose "show search results in a separate window" to keep from having all the other windows jump to the edge when searching. However- no preferences any more- just settings and it doesn't have the option. I am spelling impaired and it helps to have other windows still visible while searching to check the spelling with. I also hate all the window jumping. Is this a lost functionality?

I imagine that this "windows getting to the side" is due to using "Stage Manager".

Unless there is some reason why you want to keep this, turning Stage Manager off is the simplest solution.


(FWIW, I don't use and see no point in using Stage Manager; I am open to hearing why it is such a great feature, though).


To turn Stage Manager off, just go to System Settings->Desktop & Dock, locate this and er... turn it off:
