Apple charge shot on Discover?

Some background on terms and uses:

• Apple Card is a payment card from Apple
• Apple Pay is a payment system supporting various payment cards including Apple Card
• Apple Wallet is where those various payment cards are configured and managed

When you charge something using Apple Pay, you can either choose the default payment card — probably set to Discover, in your case — or can select the default payment card used.

To change the default payment card, use Wallet app to change the default payment card as described here:

Apple Card does not link to Discover. Is your Discover card your the default payment method in your Wallet app?

Yes, Apple Card can be the default.

For many people, Apple Card is the default.

The Apple Cash card can also be the default, if you have one of those cards.

AFAIK, any card in the card stack shown in Wallet can be selected as the default; as the front-most.

When you press and hold and then drag the cards around in the stack shown in Wallet app, what happens?

When initiating the Apple Pay process by double clicking the power / sleep button on the side of the iPhone the default card will show up as the option.

You can tap directly on it, to select a different card.

To change the default card, open the Wallet App and press on the card you want to make default and drag it to the front of the stack, then let go. You should get a confirmation prompt.

The next time you activate Apple Pay, the new default payment method will show up first.
