Legit Text from Apple?

Here’s a text I received. Is it legit? [Apple Security Alert]


We have noticed that your Apple id was recently used at \"APPLE STORE\" for $143.95, paid by Apple Pay Pre Authorization. Also some suspicious sign in request and apple pay activation request detected. That looks like suspicious to us. In order to maintain the security and privacy of your account we have placed those request on hold.  If NOT you? Please Call +1 855*****4 to talk to an Apple Representative. Failing may lead to auto debit and charge will not be reversed. Call +1 855***** immediately to cancel this charge.

No. It's a scam. Delete and ignore.


Do not respond to the message in any way. That will just let the crooks know the message received a live phone number or email address, and you'll just get more.


In all cases like this, you can simply look up the phone number with Google, or other search engine. This one is clearly from a scammer.
