After updating iOS to 18.1, my iPhone 13 Pro Max frequently goes blank with a spinning wheel

my 13 Pro Max with one terabyte drive started to encounter a blank screen while browsing and while using social media apps and screen capture, etc. I have since updated to iOS 18.1 and this continues to occur. Is there a problem with iOS 18.1 IE is there a memory leak while using memory intensive apps? Does anyone know if performing a factory reset can fix this, and if there are any evidence of bad code infecting, any or various aspects of the phone, such as drivers, core memory, ROM, pram, etc.going on should one accidentally tap on a spam text or link? My phone has encountered this exponentially in then last month. Wondering if there is some sort of intrusion or data collection happening in the background which depletes the memory necessary to function. I am not sure if this is iCloud related, but this happens weather using mail, social media apps, photos, and Safari, equally and irrespective of whether one or all of the apps are not running simultaneously.
