Sharing iCloud Photos by adjusted date and location

I have compiled an album with my original photos-and photos shared by others.

Unfortunately, some photos did not capture the actual date and time because they were either shared on a subsequent day, and/ or the person had not adjusted their geographical location.

I have spent a considerable amount of time sorting and adjusting, but every time I transfer the finished product tothe shared album, the photos revert to their original date and there is no continuity.

Is there a fix for this or a sorting mechanism I have missed?

I was experiencing the same problem today--photos taken by other people, photos with metadata set to wrong days/times and even time zones.

Here's what worked for me. In the main Photos Library, I adjusted the dates, times, and time zones. Then I selected all the photos that had to be changed and exported them to a folder on my desktop.

As far as I can tell, the exported photos only keep the newly adjusted date/time metadata. Going back to the Photos Library, I hit the delete key to remove the problematic photos, then re-imported the fixed photos into the Library. They display in the correct chronological order now in my Shared Album.

After changing the capture date are you exporting the originals or as an edited photo? If it's the originals that may be the problem. Try exporting as a jpeg edited photo.

If that fails the following should do what you want. a user provided AppleScript: Script: Batch Change the Date and Time to a Fixed Date. Put the Photos in an album and manually sort them as desired. Then select all and run the AppleScript compiled as an application. It will change all photos to the same date with a 1 minute interval between photos.

I hope I've got what you're trying to do right.
