restore old backup from old lacie hard drive

hi, thank you for the help.

I need to restore or simply copy and paste old files from an old Lacie Hard drive Porsche design 250gb firewire. I've tried to go in but almost all the folders, desktop, download, documents etc... have a banned signal. this was my hard drive, connected to an old imac. the folder say I haven't the permission to copy or do something.

there is a way to restore these files?

should I connect the old macs?
