How to find if my iPhone 12 Pro Max is fake or real?

While there is no method for anyone here to determine if your iPhone is original or fake, the fact that the model number starts with 5, is not an indication of a fake device. It is a legitimate number for a device refurbished by an Apple approved facility.

That iPhone has no warranty, and no support.

It was sold as scrap, or as spare parts, by a third-party vendor.

Whether it’s an as-is counterfeit, or an as-is real iPhone, nobody here can tell.

Counterfeit iPhones might have the Google Play Store as an app, probably won’t Quick-start transfer from another iPhone, and probably won’t be able to open and install the app at this link into the Apple App Store, among or other indications.

But again, as-is means who-knows-what-is-wrong with it.

You phone was refurbished by an Apple approved company. If there is any warranty, it will be provided by the retailer. As to what “solution” you are anticipating, there is none, unless you return the device for a refund, then purchase from an approved Apple retailer.

The people to whom you are responding help a lot of people on this forum. I'm sure that if they feel that someone who comes here looking for free help, from volunteers, is "shooting the messenger", they can find other people to help with their valuable time.

Generally, that date indicates the iPhone was sold >AS IS<, meaning no warranty.

It's a bit late to be asking about that after you've purchased it.
