Unable to play message on certain shows

I canceled Apple TV a year ago because it did this to me, gave in and tried again this week and now 4 days in -after we’ve started several shows- I can’t get any of the episodes of our selected shows to play. I can start some new shows but not others. It makes no sense. Obviously not a hardware or connection issue as other streaming services are just fine too. So what’s the deal?
