Garageband Mic Distortion

Beginner* GarageBand Issue

Months ago I was trying to experiment with mixing and downloaded the following plug ins: Bertom Denoiser, Slate Digital Fresh Air, Sonible smart EQ, pure EQ, pure limit, pure comp, pure verb, bought the Fresh Sauce "preset pro's vocal chain" from Jordan Baywood a producer/engineer on YouTube. I also started playing with the noise gate on GarageBand and noticed how badly it cuts the background audio. After about a week or two of experimenting I noticed that whenever I opened a project in GarageBand the audio was very fuzzy and distorted, it was so bad I thought my mic or equipment was broken so I replaced everything (sound interface, mic, cables). When I tried switching DAW's i.e. bandlab the audio was PERFECTLY fine, it sounded just like GarageBand used to, I also noticed when I tried to record a voice memo using the native app on Macs and the audio was perfectly clear. I've deleted all the plugins except the Bertom Denoiser and still have this issue in GarageBand.. Has anyone encountered this before? Any suggestions?
