Recover data from MacBook 2015 SSD. SSD not recognized by Macs

My 2015 MacBook Pro stopped working. I removed the SSD and I've added it to the OWC Envoy Pro 1A enclosure. On my MacBook Air running Sonoma, I plug in the SSD through USB and it just locks Disk Utility from running until I unplug it.

On a working 2015 MacBook Pro running Mojave, it doesn't appear in Disk Utility but when I run the command 'diskutil list' it does appear. When booting the working MacBook Pro in recovery, it is just stuck on 'Examining Volumes...'. I've left it for 20 minutes. I don't know if it is worth letting it run.

Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated.

It is an original Apple OEM SSD from my understanding. It is a: Samsung ssd mz-jpv1280/0a4

I don't think FileVault was enabled.

I downloaded DriveDx. When I first was setting it up, it did show the drive as "Envoy" before I had to add the driver. Then it wouldn't appear again. This is all done on my 2015 MacBook. I can try this on my 2023 MacBook Air if needed.

What appears with "diskutil list"? Post the output here so we can see what the system actually sees.

Is it the original Apple OEM SSD or a third party SSD?

Is Filevault enabled on that SSD?

Try running DriveDx (free trial period) to check the health of the SSD. When connected externally you will need to install a special USB driver to attempt to access the SSD's health information. Post the complete DriveDx text report here so I can examine it.
