Iphone hurts my hand

I have been experiencing hand pain, numbness, and tingling. This pain does goes away when I stop using my phone for an extended period of time. This pain only occurs while I actively use the phone and a few minutes afterward.

Why is apple not addressing this issue? I have heard other friends have a similar issue. This can cause serious health issues.

I don’t have to be actively typing or making any motions with my hand.

Sorry, but no.

The iphone does not emit any ionizing radiation. What you’re describing is what’s commonly referred to as RF Hypersensitivity.

It doesn’t exist. It has been proven not to exist in multiple double-blind studies. The entire concept is base don junk science.

Go see your doctor. If your doctor can’t diagnose the problem, ask for a referral to a specialist.

My spouse has the same issue. She always wants the biggest screen and started experiencing numbness, tingling and some pain/discomfort. She was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome from repetitive motion. She wears a brace on her left hand and has learned to use her right hand more.

Please make an appointment with your primary care physician and get a referral to an orthopedist. Good luck and please let us know how it works out for you.

So, your doctor did not refer you to an orthopedic specialist? If not, why not?

My wife had the same problem. Turns out that she was holding the phone too tightly even though she swore she wasn't.

The orthopedist....who mentioned that he has seen other patients with the same complaint.....told her to place the phone on a table and use it that way as much as possible. The problem went away quickly.

Please, don't waste your time thinking that this is an Apple issue. If it were, the forums would be flooded with posts and you would see stories on the evening news.

"It has something to do with what is being emitted from phone."

No it most certainly does not. That’s a long debunked conspiracy theory based on junk science. All manner of people claim to be sensitive to RF (radio frequencies ) like WiFi, various electrical signals and such but it’s simply not the case. Apple does not need to address anything. You need to see a specialist.

I needed to edit my post, but could not..

I have been experiencing hand pain, burning, and tingling even when I use my iphone 12 for the shortest period of time. I can’t hold my phone more than a a few seconds.. This pain does not go away right away when I stop using my phone. This pain only occurs while I actively use the phone and a few minutes afterward. The pain is not due to structural damage or carpal tunnel….

Why is apple not addressing this issue?

I have heard other friends have a similar issue. This can cause serious health issues.

Any insights?
